Museo Nacional de Costa Rica
Furniture

This collection includes those artifacts used to give comfort and security.  It has grown overtime, not only with domestic assets, but also with furniture that belonged to offices and common areas as parks, churches or stores.

We can find living room sets that belonged to the Brenes Spinach family and colonial chairs.  There are pieces of furniture that have lost their daily use purpose, such as dressers or desks, or those whose shape has changed overtime, like the water filters.

There are also pieces of furniture imported from China and England and true jewels made by our national cabinetmakers.  We can appreciate not only the work made on wood but also the use of different materials, such as leather and marble.
