This collection contains about 32,500 samples, including objects of historic relevance and others that reveal the every-day life of Costa Ricans since colonial times until recently.

Among daily use objects, there are mugs, telephones, vehicles (carts, Pope-mobile), farming objects and shoes, and some others not so “daily-like,” such as ornaments, jewelry, and chinaware.

There is also furniture: chairs, desks, tables, benches, and chests; weapons: cannons, rifles, swords, sabers, guns, and ammo; national and international medals, and medallions, most of them granted on civil merits, but some are battle recognitions.
