The Hector Gamboa Paniagua Library is an information center specialized in Natural History, Anthropology, Archaeology, Costa Rican History and Museology. This bibliographic pile compiles about 50,000 publications including books, magazines, dissertations, and booklets.
Some collections have been the obtained due to exchanges with international institutions since the beginning of the National Museum in 1887. They are updated with donations and exchange agreements that have been established by means of the museum magazines Brenesia and Vínculos [ Links ]. It includes 57 volumes with pictures drawn by hand and some even colored, which magnificently illustrate the text.
