Presentation: Collections In Context

ImageThe Collection In Context is formed by various complete pieces and fragments of utensils in ceramic, stone, gold, jade, human remains, and fauna and flora remains, of which experts have precise information as to the collection's origin.

There are over 6 000 boxes holding pieces and fragments, which come directly from archaeological sites subjected to scientific research, or sites where the material was suddenly rescued.

Research is carried out by the Department of Anthropology and History, or by institutions with specialized personnel, or by independent archaeologists, who give the material to the National Museum once research is done.

As a complement there is a graphics and documents collection of the archaeological sites
